Hello my friends,
As we start another Wednesday it seems a lifetime since I sent out the last email. Hard to believe it’s only been a week.
In this last week I’ve been bombarded with multiple emails from companies trying to sell me so many things that are not useful at this time. Not cool. Why do I need a new outfit when there is nowhere to blinkin’ wear it to…. grrrrr. How can I buy an outfit when I am worried about paying my mortgage…?
Personally I think they are being totally tone-deaf. So I got to thinking what do I want to see from businesses?
Who is sharing useful information and products? These are the companies that I will be loyal to on the other side of this.
So here are some of the resources I want to share this week:
Home schooling – how on earth do we all become teachers?
For all you parents out there with children still in school. On top of everything if you have children you now have to keep them occupied, while confined, and educate them as the chances of them going back to school before September seem slim. I’ve found some fabulous free resource tools – Scholastic with daily printable worksheets and The Canadian Homeschooler with lots of parent support groups.
Mental health during covid-19
Louise Hay is one of my most favourite authors. I’ve been reading her books since I was 15 as they truly helped my mom out in very hard times, and my favourite book of hers is You Can Heal Your Life. She is offering free online books, meditations, and podcasts. These are resources to help bring the fear and anxiety of the situation under control, because after each news broadcast goodness anything to give you a lift is helpful. People are social animals and this self-confinement and isolation are tough, especially if you live alone, or are in one of the most vulnerable groups.
Stretch what cash you have
We are all struggling with the financial impact of Coronavirus. When will we get paid again? Do I qualify forEI? Or is it the new gov’t Emergency benefit? When will it come in? Cash flow is becoming critical for impacted households and racking up the credit cards is not the greatest idea as they seem to be the only sector not jumping up to offer help.
So here are some tips on eating healthy and on a budget that can really take some pressure off. We are all mostly home now with time on our hands to cook, prepare a meal plan, and follow through as opposed to calling for takeout. We all definitely want to support our community restaurants, but keep it to once every 10 days. That will help you as well as them.

I wanted to stay in touch with all of you through these trying times.
While we are closed, I wanted to let you know how my life is going at home with my family and what helps keep me sane. While this is not medical advice, I hope it can be as helpful for you as it is for me.
A routine is very important, and so I’m getting up and getting ready like I’m going to work. Morning affirmations are a huge part of my life. I’m also doing morning stretches and some free app workouts daily. My favourite apps for this are 7 Minute Workout: Fitness App and Yoga for Beginners| Mind and Body (Available in the Apple Store and in Google Play Store). Keeping up with being healthy might be hard but it’s now that our body and mind needs it the most. It’s important to keep our immune system up and running.
As well as affirmations and exercise, I take several supplements. Even though it sounds boring, vitamin C (even at a low dose of 1,000 mg) is still at the top of my list. Along the same lines, I find 10 mg of zinc a day has proven very useful in the past, as well as herbs like Astragalus. I recommend asking a health care specialist which supplements will keep you in top shape. They will also be able to advise you whether or not any supplements will interact negatively with each other or with other medications you may be taking.

The World Health Organization classified the outbreak of the Coronavirus as a “pandemic”.
Here at Fabufit I’ve been doing a lot behind the scenes to keep my clients safe by preventing the spread of illness.
I take my clients health very seriously and it is important that we all work to keep each other safe. Fabufit’s current policy is to observe a 1-degree of separation rule.
What does this mean?
If you have been in contact with someone suspected of carrying the Coronavirus, I ask that you do not come into the clinic until that person has tested negative. We have a high-level of immunosuppressed patients that we need to protect
In case you did not know, here are the main signs and symptoms of Coronavirus:
- Extreme fatigue
- Body aches
- Shortness of breath
- Worsening symptoms
If you are experiencing any symptoms of Coronavirus including; fever, cough, or shortness of breath, please return home and call 811 for further details and guidance from a medical professional.
What we are doing in our clinic?
Increasing sanitization from room-to-room and high-touch areas, such as:
- Using high-grade sanitization products on all rooms, offices and front-desk areas daily
- Sanitizing beds and/or tools after each client
- Providing additional sanitization stations for patients at the clinic
- Waiving cancellation fees for patients who are ill
- The building management has also increased sanitization of common areas such as the lobby, washrooms and staff areas
How you can help:
- If you have travelled within the past 14 days to high-risk areas, such as China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Iran, Italy, Japan, Singapore, South Korea or Spain, please stay home and notify us immediately.
- Arrive early and wash your hands prior to entering the office
- Call if you are unsure of whether you should come to your appointment
- Cancel your appointment if you are have any symptoms described above, or any other cold or flue symptoms.
- Avoid touching door knobs with your bare hands and use tissue or sleeves
We ask that you have patience and understanding should schedules need to be adjusted.
